2026 & Beyond With The IPG!

YOUR Guild is moving forward. Be inspired and inspire others!

2025 Is Closing

As 2025 closes, I want to detail just some of the things the IPG will be doing in 2026 - and beyond!

I want to remind you that you get out of the IPG what you put into it! For those who are able to be involved, we have a place for you and you will reap career rewards in networking, opportunities and industry profile as we move forward. For those unable to be involved, you membership dues are vital support - you matter more than you know. Your support encourages everyone else, and you also benefit from IPG initiatives. Here are just some of those for 2026:

  • 2026 IPG Members Handbook - coming out with production checklists from development through post, and valuable contract templates for your reference in production. Best practices and ethics sections have been expanded, especially as far as safety, AI, and working with minors. The IPG Members Handbook is the ONLY best practices handbook for independent (or any) producers. It will be out for distribution in February 2026. Overseen by Shadow Dragu-Mihai and edited by Matthew Frazier.

  • IPG Expansion - we will be introducing lower level memberships for film students and social media creators. The IPG aims to expand across the globe in 2026. This will give the Guild much more clout when dealing with regulators and industry.

  • IPG Relevance - as a part of the expansion, we are conversing with film commissions, other organizations and federal, state and local government as well as film schools. People are already aware of the Guild. By the end of 2026, people will be asking if your production is IPG approved. By end of 2027, the IPG accreditation logo in your film credits will be a mark of professionalism and its absence will be notable.

  • New Networking - new courses - new meetings and events. IPG will be making many career-enhancing events and courses available to the independent filmmaking community. IPG members in good standing will be able to attend those courses and events free or at significant discounts.

  • Gig/Job & Services Boards - WHEN YOU ARE ASKED TO RECOMMEND A PRODUCER, WRITER, DIRECTOR OR OTHER CREW MEMBER, YOU SHOULD ALREADY BE PREFERRING IPG CONTACTS. In 2026, this will become easier with listings on the IPG website for you to list your skills and availability, as well as current openings and assignments other IPG (or non-IPG) are offering).

  • Member Spotlights - we started this in 2025 and will be expanding it in 2026. Learn about other successful IPG members, and have your own projects highlighted as well!
