Opprtunities For Funding & More!
IPG Members Will Benefit
The IPG is about to publicly announce the FilmPod Film Fund and the FilmPod distribution program - and IPG Members can get first in line to benefit.
They are called FilmPods by public and media. Internally, the Guild calls them part of its Direct To Audience Initiative. This internal title encompasses the Guild’s intention - to facilitate a producer to get direct to the audience without paying parasitic middlemen or having to deal with gatekeepers whose only function is to control access to your market.
For participating filmmakers, FilmPods combine:
a funding source
for qualified motion picture projects (series are especially desirable, but featurettes and features are always considered)
with a global streaming capability
with an incentivized viewer experience
with default AVOD feeds and other monetization options
that will pay the filmmaker more than double the revenue split an indie filmmaker can expect on most any other platform.
on a non-exclusive basis
with a merchandising arm
and with a theatrical releasing option in development
application to be considered for the funding program will be free to IPG members. If you need development services to put a project into shape for funders (like schedules, budgets, packaging assistance, script coverage, etc.), they will be available at thousands of dollars less than film service sites like “Slated” or “Buffalo 8” charge - and will already conform to IPG production guidelines.
The IPG has put together an experienced and motivated team to institute FilmPods. These people are from IPG directorships as well as specially qualified outside consultants.
Do you Want to be part of the FilmPod Team?
You are too late to be part of the current executive team. We have been inviting participation from IPG members for nearly two years, and the window for response has finally closed. However, you can still be involved with the design team, and the promotion team.
Do you want to be part of the IPG Networking & Outreach Team?
We are about the fill the IPG Outreach Director from within the IPG. We still have an opening for the IPG Social Coordinator. The former will oversee all Guild outreach activities. Things such as membership drives, member spotlights, events which highlight member accomplishments and promote member projects, etc. The latter will help the Outreach Director to plan IPG participation at social & professional events which are not necessarily organized by the IPG or focusing on IPG members.
If you have been delaying joining the IPG:
We want you on board!
The IPG is fast becoming known as the organization which represents professional motion picture producers, in the USA and internationally. The IPG is setting standards & practices intended to support the independent industry and, as evidenced by FilmPods, which will help independent creators get their vision to the world without being controlled by major studios or distributors.
The IPG is a democratic organization. Democracy is a participatory sport. If you participate, you influence what is happening. You will make a positive difference within the IPG to benefit its members. The IPG is an outward facing guild with a mandate to change the industry - so the IPG is your path to affecting the way the industry operates. It’s your industry - take control today.
